Poftim

Cancellation and refunds

Cancelling and getting your money back are two different things

Cancelling stops the next payment and lets you keep Poftim+ until the period you have paid for runs out. A refund returns money you have already paid. They are separate requests with separate outcomes, and this page explains both.

Cancelling

Stops the next payment, keeps what you paid for

You can cancel at any time from your account page. There is no notice period, no cancellation fee, and nobody to talk to first.

  • Your next paymentDoes not happen
  • Poftim+ featuresContinue to the end of the paid period
  • On that dateThe account becomes an ordinary free account
  • Your filesUnaffected — Poftim never stored any
  • A refund of the current periodNot automatic. See below

Until the cancellation takes effect you can change your mind: a Keep Poftim+ button appears on the account page and removes the pending cancellation, so the subscription simply carries on.

Cancelling does not by itself refund the period you are currently in. This is the single most common misunderstanding about subscriptions, so it is worth saying plainly: if you cancel one day into a year you have paid for, you keep Poftim+ for the remaining year rather than receiving the year's payment back.

Refunds

Who decides, and how to ask

Poftim+ subscriptions are sold by Paddle as merchant of record. Paddle is the seller on the transaction, issues the receipt, collects the tax — and handles refunds under its own refund policy together with whatever consumer law applies where you live.

That means a refund is requested from Paddle rather than from us. You can ask:

We will help where we can, but we cannot approve a refund on Paddle's behalf, and we would rather say so than take a request and go quiet on it.

What happens to Poftim+ if a refund is granted?

Access ends. A refund returns the money the period was paid with, so the access that money bought stops with it. Where Paddle grants a partial refund and leaves the subscription running, Poftim+ continues — we follow the subscription state Paddle reports rather than inventing our own arithmetic about how much access a part-refund should leave behind.

Do I have a statutory right to a refund?

That depends on where you live, and it is not something we can answer for every country. Consumers in the EU and several other places have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract within a set period, which can apply to a first subscription payment — and which can be lost once digital content has been supplied with your express consent. Paddle applies the rules of your country as the seller on the transaction. Nothing on this page removes a right the law gives you.

Is there a no-refund policy?

No, and we are not going to write one. A blanket "all sales are final" would be unenforceable against consumers in much of the world, including where Poftim is established. What is true is narrower: cancelling is not a refund, and refunds are decided by Paddle under its policy and applicable law.

What if I was charged after cancelling?

Tell us through the contact form and include the receipt. A charge after a cancellation is a fault rather than a policy, and it should be put right rather than argued about.

Deleting

A third, separate thing

Cancel means stop charging me. Refund means give the money back. Delete means remove my account and my data. Three requests, three outcomes, and doing one does not do the others.

Deleting your account never leaves a subscription running behind it. If you delete while Poftim+ is active, the renewal is cancelled as part of the same action, you keep Poftim+ until the period you paid for ends, and the account is deleted after that. You are emailed a link that cancels the deletion, in case the request was not yours.

Deletion and a copy of your data are both available from the account page. What is held, and what is not, is set out in the privacy notice.
